Big J and the Juice talk International Travel
Host: Welcome to another juice session with big J and the juice introducing your hosts First best known for his work in the buffet Lifestyle circuit, it's big J then best known as Oregon's most secret Supernatural investigator, it's the juice now join big J and the juice Conversation already in progress
Big J: Hey, what's up, man?
What's up? Are you enjoying that hold music?
The Juice: No.
I didn't care for it. I almost hung up a few times. I was like, ah, he says he's on his way, but he's getting close. He's so
Big J: much
The Juice: better. It was pretty, I did not care for that music. That might be the worst old music I've ever heard, actually. Yeah, it's just, it's not even good guitar playing. It's weird.
Big J: Oh, God.
The Juice: Yeah, they gotta do something about that. That was terrible. Yeah. If it was like a real professional meeting, people just leave in meetings like, Nah, I can't take it. Business isn't that worth it.
Yeah, I
Big J: apologize for being a little bit late.
The Juice: Nah, I'm late all the time, man. You're good. Alright. Yeah, no worries.
Big J: Alright. I had all these ideas. Oh, I know what I want to talk about. You. Sure. I went on a vacation and went traveling, and you went traveling, so I thought internet travel would be a great topic.
Oh, you're right.
The Juice: Both recently experienced in the area.
Big J: So you went on a trip all the way to
The Juice: I did. Yeah. It was quite an adventure. I have to say yeah, it was a tremendous place. Yeah, Ragusa which was like a little beach town that we were at was, it was really nice, it was like a nice way to experience Italy, it wasn't like overwhelming, but it was like definitely another place and everything there, I don't know, the food was just tremendous, and yeah, I don't know, all in all, I'd say it was like a really good experience I'd say.
Big J: Ragusa does sound delicious. It
The Juice: definitely sounds like ragu, like the bit of stuff. I
Big J: think, I think that's, I think that's where it probably came from, that town, because it sounded like a lot of the towns over there had names of products that you could buy that were Italian. That
The Juice: might be true.
Yeah, I know, I never looked into that, but that makes sense. It's a really nice place. I don't know. Sunny Beach towns are just great almost anywhere really, but like there in Ashley, there's just something cool about them.
Big J: And I heard there's a lot of
The Juice: gelato. Yes, there was a great deal of gelato.
I actually only had it when I what? Maybe once or twice. It was all really good though. I think Michelle had it every time she could breathe. She was all into it. But,
Big J: I hear all the You're on a mission. I hear about all this great stuff. Let's talk about the part where they cancelled your flight.
Oh, yeah. Multiple times, and they dragged you out for like multiple hours, because I think that's actually something that's a pretty big issue these days. They're just really aggressive about not getting you where you're intended to go at the time.
The Juice: Sure, okay. Yeah International Travel is yeah, it's gotten pretty tricky these days because they cancel flights all the time and flights are delayed all the time. So there's not a ton of dependability with air travel these days. Did you just miss your first flight or
Big J: did you, I mean there wasn't, but you missed it. Did they cancel only your first flight or did
The Juice: you also...
They canceled our first flight. It was... Okay. I think it was like after the English flight. And they basically just kept... Delaying it over and over again. And at one point, I feel like it was like after midnight or something when they said it was going to leave. Eventually it was just set to be the following day.
And then it's just cancelled. And then, I don't think we ever found out why it was ever cancelled either. I think it just was.
Big J: Yeah, the pilot was probably famous or something. Which airline was that?
The Juice: What was
Big J: it? I want to say American. American airline on that. Yeah. I want to say it was American Airlines.
And then once you got where you were going on that flight, did the next flight work out pretty good?
The Juice: Once everything, once we finally got to leave LA, I think now there was like a whole thing where they unboarded the plane because of some sort of electronic issue, I want to say, something like that.
But we did ultimately, that was we had to shift our plans entirely. And we ended up flying to... Dallas, and then we're going to go from Dallas to Dallas to Rome and from Rome to Catania.
Yeah, there is, they basically fully boarded the plane in Dallas and then they fully de boarded the plane in Dallas. At which point we were wondering if we were ever actually going to make it to Italy. But luckily we were able to take the flight. My parents and my aunt and uncle had to give up their business class seats, because we wanted to make sure we got there in time.
So they all flew a coach for that long duration.
Big J: It seemed like you might not be making it for a while there, huh?
The Juice: Yeah, it got a little scary. Yeah I was discussing with Michelle. She was going to have to give a speech if I wasn't going to be able to make it, yeah, totally
Big J: agree.
The Juice: Yeah, a lot of our speech was Longer lines of how dare you.
It probably worked out that we made it, but yeah, it got really tricky there for a second. Yeah, Michelle got screwed over because she had to figure out a place to stay at like midnight or something like that. And she had to scrounge up a hotel because we were unable to meet her when we got to Rome.
That
Big J: wouldn't have been so much of an issue if George hadn't also promised at that time to also clear up and then say, nevermind, I'm not coming. I'm tired.
The Juice: I am tired. This is an international country here. This is not a situation where that excuse flies.
Big J: And then I booked. So I was on the other end, of the phone there.
So she's right before she's taking off, real short trip that Sicily from wherever it is, Rome, yeah. And then, no, she was in Rome at that point, I think. I was it was like, oh, so I just found out I don't have a place to something. So I went, and I go on m okay, so I had two requirements.
I looking for shuttle and other requirement was 24 hour front desk so that you can actually get that because you're showing up at 11 o'clock at night, right?
The Juice: Yeah, of course,
Big J: you need it. So I go on to one of these token sites, I think it was, I think it was token. com, I go on there I put in those requirements, I book, and then, next thing you know, I'm calling the hotel that, that that, yeah, I'm like, I'm not speaking English, call back tomorrow.
Oh! Ha! I'm like, I'm just trying to confirm how to get it so that the the shuttle will be at the airport. But yeah, I was completely not helpful there. Yeah. And then in the end, Michelle ends up taking an Uber. It costs like 120 euros or bucks or whatever. Which is ridiculous just to go into town,
From the airport.
It wasn't an Uber, it was a taxi. A local taxi. The Ubers were actually much cheaper when I boarded it. She actually got ripped off. Which is fine, because that's what it is. It's just legal
The Juice: traveling. Yeah. You take what you get.
Big J: Yeah, there were no Ubers around, so she was stuck. With the taxi. So she spent more on the taxi than I spent on the room.
A sheet. Okay. He gets over to the room, and then the guy, he was insisting, because he just was this old dude who didn't actually know how to work the computer. And he just had a friend out of the people who had signed up to come to the room, so he didn't even have her contact information. So she gets in there, and it's yeah, no, you don't have a, you don't have a room.
But, in a broken Italian, and insisting that you come back tomorrow. Okay, I have a room for tonight at a hotel, which is you, dad. Yeah. I'm gonna come back tomorrow. Where am I gonna go? Yeah. You gotta talk with your hands. She didn't know that. That's a good one. That would have really helped.
Anyway, she eventually gets the guy to give her a room, however that worked out, and she just showed him her phone. And she ends up in a room, and they didn't, whatever room he gives her, maybe he was giving her not a real room? Yeah, but the room she gets just had towels for pillows. Yeah, it was like, I don't know what I said up there, but it was all pretty backward in Italy.
As far as I could in Sicily, it was all especially in the middle of the night, a small the hotels were. Either booked up or didn't speak English, everybody I was talking to anyway. It was not easy to try to manage this from 3, 000, I don't know, how far was I away? Half the world away, 20, 000 miles probably, right?
Yeah, a ways. Yeah, a ways. I couldn't, it was difficult to do, different time zone, different it was difficult to get her set up. But, we survived the night. And then her ride from the previous night eventually came over, picked her up, cleared, and brought her back. I don't know why he thought he could do, it was essentially the drive from LAX and he was planning on driving to the place, so he could drive to LAX, check into the Airbnb, and then come back to the airport again.
Like that's a big ask. I don't know why he thought he could do
The Juice: that. Yeah, late at night, dude. Yeah, you're probably you're all a little mixed up from the time changes as well. Yeah, that's a little bit of a
Big J: reach there. I think he didn't think that all the way through. Yeah, I'll come pick you up.
I don't think he did. Yeah. But if he hadn't said that, I think that I could have talked to some people while they were still in business. If people who spoke English had the best. And we probably met a little bit
The Juice: too late. Yeah, arranged rides, transportation, and...
Big J: I heard the the wedding went off pretty good, Noah. Yeah, the
The Juice: wedding was good. Yeah, no, the wedding was really good. I was super disorganized, but yeah, overall, I think everything was pretty good. There was no there was no rehearsal dinner or anything no one really knew. When to walk down or how to walk down or who was the boo or where they were going to be and We'll just figure it out in the moment.
We got there no rivers. I know i've never I don't know Oh, there's a reason there's a rehearsal dinner, yeah. There's a reason. There's a reason why you do all this practice stuff, why? Because...
Big J: I was also hearing about apparently they have cash back taxes out there or something like that.
Where you pay with a credit card but you still gotta pay cash. Something like that. Really? That was what Michelle was telling me. I don't know what that was about. Maybe that was specifically... I don't know. I don't know what she was doing. Ash taxes. Huh? Taxes. Like you pay, you had to pay like Oh, the travel tax.
Yeah. And then you keep back later or something?
The Juice: Yeah. Yeah. No, that is, that was there. So we're really doing things, but yeah, no travel tax.
Yeah, it just, you just basically got to be a little more responsible holding on to some things and you do get the money back, I believe. Yeah, you just got yeah, you just got to be aware of it.
Big J: Planning ahead and have room in advance.
The Juice: Yeah, it turns out when you wing international travel a little bit, it doesn't always go great.
Or just when you travel internationally in general, it doesn't always go great. But it doesn't mean the whole trip is a loss, it means just, part of the adventure, I think is the way you gotta look at it. Traveling internationally is just, you expect it to be a little rocky at points and then you just have a good time and the, I don't know if the good time is making great times and you just enjoy the trip, yeah,
Big J: you gotta just be like cool with being okay with being stuck in the air for a few seconds.
The Juice: Yeah, you gotta, it's a possibility that things will not go as you expected. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Big J: Alright my trip was just a cruise, right? Which I can't speak. I can't speak.
The Juice: Are you in a prison?
Big J: No, I hate flying.
The Juice: Oh yeah. You
Big J: don't really do that. You basically just go somewhere, park your car, and then get into a hotel room that travels around. You know what I'm saying? I like that. I like that. For me, all the stress points are when you leave a hotel room to go to another hotel room. So if you ever need to do that, it comes out.
It's
The Juice: like your whole face is secure regardless, so everything is engraved in there.
Big J: So I the short little clue is that, dang it, I love these Mexican food because they just leave them like right here. I'd be down for a while. Anything that leaves from here, I'm totally down. If I have to fly somewhere, I hate flying.
Period. The end. I hate it. I hate it. Period. The end. I haven't It's a chair, period. I hate that. I just don't like anything about it. I hate flying, and I mean, where there's flying involved, that's really horrible. I understand there's a lot of cruises in other places, but it's you've just completely defeated the purpose of the cruise.
Yeah,
The Juice: if you have to fly to get to a cruise, it feels like you haven't really Yeah, I don't, why
Big J: are we still cruising? We just wouldn't. I don't understand. That was the cruise. But anyway, I I enjoyed driving up LA, Port LA, go over to Get on a boat, hotel, basically you're in a fancy hotel, you got a room, goes around in the ocean, you end up in this short little one, we've got Catalina, catch a Pokemon all day, and then we go to Ensenada, catch a Pokemon all day, and then we just come back.
No big deal. That was a lot of fun. For me, that was
The Juice: pretty good.
Big J: Yeah, that was a big thing. There's no way to get involved. It doesn't really work at all.
The Juice: Yeah, it was truly relaxation.
Big J: Oh, yeah, we were a little kid. That was for sure. That always ends up being like. It's way more work than you think. Out, out the gate. It's just, I think it'd be fun. I think we could all go down to Mexico no problem. But you should check out the Indians.
They're like, Mexico again? And it's come on, it's a whole country. Expect them. All right. Yeah. Go down there. Come on. Good place. But yeah, they're they're tired of being only one of them.
The Juice: Are there people on the cruise complaining about the destination and all that?
Big J: No, it was only me and my wife.
Okay. So what happened was yeah, we'll go as with another couple but unfortunately the other one of the other couple got One of them got this really bad disease called cancer, I don't know if you've heard of that. And then and then we had to leave some stuff at home to keep it on the cruise.
And so that would have been fun, they would have been double dated for a week. That would have been fun, but it was also fun just to go with my wife. On this cruise. Good times.
The Juice: You made the best of the situation, I think, for sure. And then you made it a good
Big J: situation. I wouldn't have had the opportunity at all if it wasn't for them driving it originally.
It was just another Mexico cruise, but they were the ones who had the idea, so it was a good idea, you know what I'm saying? That worked out. So yeah, we had a good time. Caught a bunch of Pokemons and we'll catch down in Mexico and we'll come back out.
I think I told you this, there was a park. In Ensenada that had a tree and it was just filled with signs of missing people. And there was a federally building with a guy with a machine gun in front. And then there was a whole, the whole park was filled with people on the park benches. Either one or two people together.
In retrospect, I'm pretty sure those were undercover officers. I
The Juice: think that makes sense, man. They're all looking like they're doing something instead of just doing something.
Big J: Yeah, they're all sitting there like guarding the building. They were actually guarding the Federali building. All those people there.
And they were just undercover officers who were, dealing with this and that. Amazing. We caught a lot of poker down there. I put up some lures. I glorified this local guy by tapping him on the shoulder because I saw he was playing poker. Yeah, I put up lures. I put up lures at the poker shops.
People come from all around because they're like, hey, check out these lures. And so you basically lure other Pokémon players to your place. More Pokemon at the Pokestops. Sure. Yeah, so you, all these people show up. And so we saw multiple people who were playing Pokemon that were locals. And it just got all scary.
Cause I'm like can we be friends in Pokemon? I'm like, amigos? Amigos? And yeah, we became friends.
The Juice: I like that, yeah. Poki and me goes forever, man.
Big J: Oh, me goes forever. Yeah, we've been training since then. Nice. But yeah, man, I do that every week. That was a good time. That was just like Monday through Thursday.
Or Monday through Friday. Yeah. We got on Thursday, Friday we got back. Yeah, that was a good time. Maybe that's like
The Juice: a way you guys can do trips in the future,
Big J: she, Michelle would not want to do it again. She likes novelty. She remembers her experiences. Okay. That's very frustrating for us. For me, I'm like I really liked it because we paid I don't know the math, but I'm pretty sure it was 50 a person a night, all meals included, hotel room, and like all the activities, like, how cool is
The Juice: that?
You guys got a really good deal.
Big J: That's a really good deal, right? You could do that all day long because the cruises, after COVID, nobody wanted to go on cruises, so they're still recovered.
The Juice: It's true. People are still wary. I think so,
Big J: like if they still have a whole, if they change their pattern of travel or whatever, sure. I but I thoroughly enjoy it. I do that every, I do that all, like I do that once a month. I don't think Michelle would be down to do that every month. It would be the same trip over and over. Sure.
The Juice: Maybe you could do a trip like it, but almost to a different destination,
Big J: hawaii takes 14 days.
The Juice: You don't have to specifically go to
Big J: Hawaii. Mexico takes a week. And then other than that, you're just talking about driving around places. The last time we drove around, we ended up with Morrow Bay, which was like an infamous trip, because,
The Juice: Ah, yeah, you're not supposed to talk about that trip.
I'm not
Big J: even allowed to talk about it. The fact is, we drive somewhere with the kids. He's lying back.
The Juice: That's how that works. Yeah, it is a legendary
Big J: story for sure. Yeah, the vibes are different. Mistakes
The Juice: were made. Mistakes were made.
Big J: No. One can admit their mistakes or say that there's just like a way, somebody, maybe somebody wants to...
It's just... It's not that you want to deceive. You don't know.
Yeah, it is. It is. Things got complicated. Things were complicated. Okay. Things
The Juice: got complicated, man.
Big J: Things were complicated. That was the key point.
The Juice: Yeah. I think you guys will be able to do another trip like that at some point, and then you'll be good. You'll basically be able to rectify it. That's what I think will happen.
I don't know when, but one day, I think you guys will.
Big J: We, I feel like Mexico, if you just embrace it, you could do it every day. Go down there, shit, and have a good time. Are you
The Juice: talking retirement now? Just don't go flying
Big J: somewhere like a sucker. Just go down there and take a nice shit down the mix.
The Juice: And it does sound like it was a lovely trip.
Big J: Yeah, I don't know. I'm looking forward to the kids being like stable enough in a situation that we can just basically take off. That would be good. But that is not our current situation. We're still young enough where we can just do it
The Juice: at home. Yeah. It's been a few more years, I think. And you'll probably, you'll have to gauge how they are in their teenage years as far as partying and stuff.
And then I don't know. Once they're at college, I
Big J: mean, the money that I paid, I would totally bring them, but I know that by virtue of bringing them, Michelle is so stressed out.
The Juice: Yeah. I shouldn't be worried about that. I don't know when they get older, more independent though, you guys might be able to do triple together.
When they can be take care of themselves for I
Big J: mean, I think that's a good point. Is it worried about or is it just for whatever reasons, you just can't like, rest, just being around them sometimes
The Juice: I think you worry about them.
So what are they up to, I think we make the right decision. And I need I think also probably for a binder of all the, like, all the stuff that encompasses, being a parent. I'm guessing
Big J: A week of parenthood? Yeah, that's what I
The Juice: think it is. It's just like a visual reminder.
I think as youths become more comfortable with their ability to take care of themselves as they get older. I feel like that could probably be a lesson to this. I think you always worry about your kids, but like now
Big J: it's getting better. Because I'll repeat, but I would do that every day of the month. I paid 600 for two people in a luxury hotel for a week.
That's
The Juice: a big
Big J: deal, man. I know that's amazing and then we can just go do that. I can do that every week I get I can move all the kids in there once a week. Once a month. I'm sorry every month once a month that would be a lot of fun, but I can't really visualize Actually for real doing that. There's just no end to it You don't
The Juice: think you'd ever want to do it again, I don't know maybe it's like a thing you guys could do, I don't know annually
Big J: She wants to do a big trip annually with all the family and everything like that, sure. I hear all that, but I don't know. She's going to South Korea in April with all that. All the girls. It's a girls trip. They're all going. It's a
The Juice: girls trip to South Korea? Okay.
Big J: Yeah, with basically it's a Girl Scout trip. It's all the Girl Scouts. The Girl Scout leader and her kids
The Juice: Michelle. Oh, okay.
Oh, like the kids are all going. Yeah, all these
Big J: kids. Oh, alright. South Korea is driving it. He's all excited about South Korea. K pop is very popular. Korea is a big deal. Yeah, for whatever reason, spite of it being a big deal cost ticket to get there, what that's about kind of bullshit.
The Juice: Yeah. I think it's a different experience, but
Big J: I guess you wanna fly for 12 hours, like an asshole, whatever.
The Juice: You may be biased against Blaine, but I hear what you're saying.
Big J: I think
The Juice: I'm so biased. I don't know, so it's in a theory, if you were in like, business class, forget the money, I know money matters, what I'm saying, forget the money, the scenario of you being in business class, would that be better?
Big J: I guess it would be better, but really, I guess I would be okay with flying if I were flying my own plane, that was a joke, then I'd be cool.
The Juice: So it's like a control thing?
Big J: I just, I like driving. I wouldn't like to have 12 hours, so I guess I'd spread it across three days. At that point, is it controlled?
No, not really. I guess I'd be cool to sleep on a plane if, but I still would hate it if I was having to go through security to go do all that stuff. But I guess if it was super fancy, it wouldn't be that bad. Okay. Normally, it's not so much.
The Juice: It's, there's always a little bit of an inconvenience regardless of the scenario.
I think you'd like the lounge though. The money
Big J: is like an injury. I'll tell you, sir, the money is it's not trivial. It's whatever you're doing. No, I agree. I agree. That, that is like a big part of how much it's worth. In my opinion. Sure. Say I paid 100 for the car, but this is what I'm gonna do, right?
That'd be...
It would still suck, but if I paid like 10, 000. To have myself a nice, private situation, you know what that was stuck to, I got to tell you, it's not across the entire spectrum of options that I can imagine because I don't want to. If
The Juice: you charter a plane, I don't know, I don't think you actually have to go through security and all that stuff.
Obviously that's an absurd amount of money.
Big J: I'll tell you when I'd be okay with it. I was a super spy. And then I would use Lushfilm. And then going around, then I'd be cool with it. Then I'd be doing cool fashion. That'd be some shanky.
The Juice: Cause it'd be the objective. Not a vacation.
Big J: What?
I don't even have to land. They just drop me on the plane. That'd be, I'm gonna pull up. Ah, I see. We're good to go. I'm gonna get my gun.
The Juice: You'd be good with what is it, action!
Big J: Skydiving? I forget what it's called. They have a... Skydiving? Yeah,
The Juice: skydiving. They call it helo, right? Oh, you do the halo drops where they do the, oh, I know what you're
Big J: talking about.
Yeah, you drop right into the action. Now you're talking. I'll do that. That I can do. But you're guaranteed to be set in service. Sure. That's
The Juice: a qualified purpose.
Big J: Then I'd be okay. Am I supposed to be doing that for leisure? It's let me just go home. Come on. What was the main benefit of going to Mexico?
Is that I wasn't, actually, if my wife didn't have the weight of responsibility that she feels at home, I'd say that was actually the primary benefit, was that she didn't have the weight of responsibility.
The Juice: She got to relax.
Big J: Yeah, she got to relate. And then therefore, I got to feel it. Because if she could just feel that feeling at home, then I would just feel that feeling at home.
And how cool is that? And that's actually just what my wife said to me. That was the
The Juice: big thing. Yeah,
Big J: and then all I gotta do is get rid of my father in law, and my sister in law, and then the house will be empty, and then make it so that my wife has an activity that she's excited about, and then doesn't feel the weight and responsibility of the work.
There's no situation for that. There's no matter what.
The Juice: Morgan's gonna move out eventually. She's gonna have a lot of time.
Big J: Eventually people will move out, but even if they don't, and even if they did like either way, she's gonna keep accruing responsibilities and have the weight of the world wherever she's at, because that's what people do, I think.
Yeah,
The Juice: it's true. Michelle definitely does take on responsibility pretty openly.
Big J: Yeah, she's all backup, that's what I wanted to say. Yeah. That's interesting. So that was actually, I think that was actually the main benefit was that they were teaching her, for her. Sure. And then that, I think you guys got that same benefit when she was traveling to Europe and all that, right?
I think so, yeah, I'd
The Juice: say so. I feel like she was being asked to do stuff, but I think she did get relaxation as well.
Big J: I think she just feels weighed down when she's physically here. And that she keeps wanting to leave because of it. Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah. I'm looking at the cycle structure.
I'll tell you, I think that's what it is. Because it's really a vacation. Because I don't need a vacation. That's not really I just want to myself and have other people that distraction, you know Because that's what's going on like when she's physically here. She's got everybody's attracted with all the weight of the world.
The Juice: Sure The key is just to get you to in a space where you're not worrying about what's going on
Yeah That's the new vacation goal.
Big J: That is the vacation goal here at the end. That is really the vacation Anything else that has worked for me on top of that Other than that, if I could just be right here right now, totally on vacation, like I'd be on vacation right now. You wouldn't know, there's very much to say.
But, I wouldn't, like Michelle would not, I couldn't get her on vacation until we got her away because she was filthy, like she needed to follow all the routine of such a man and all these other things. So she's just that whole, she's just into that vibe. That's interesting. That's interesting, because I would love to be on those shows every day.
I'm feeling
The Juice: great. I feel like you guys could do it more often. You know what you need to get, you know where you need to get to now. You see what you got the goal in mind.
Big J: I wonder how to pull that off, pull it off this week. I don't know. I don't know. Let's see, maybe we can get another take on that in a couple of days.
I think it's achievable, man.
The Juice: I think you guys could do it more often. We just got to
Big J: get her away from her stupid race car. For me, that's what it is. It's taking the shell away from the situation and keeping it with all the patients and all these folks. They're waiting the world all the time. That's what it feels.
Yeah. Hey, you got really
The Juice: quiet. Are you further away from the mic? Oh, I'm just standing
Big J: here. Yeah, maybe. I don't know if I'm quiet or now.
The Juice: No, I can hear you perfectly now. You just got quiet when you were saying the last thing. I'm just talking to the
Big J: laptop here. I don't know.
The Juice: Ah, okay. You don't have the headstuff on. No, I'm just talking to the laptop.
You and the laptop. I
Big J: gotcha. Yeah, I gotcha. Okay. What have we figured out here? Planes, I'm not a fan. You're ambivalent. You don't, you're trying to go to Six Flags, I heard.
The Juice: Yeah,
Big J: that's the next goal. That's something I haven't tried to do in over 20 years. I don't know.
I don't like fist bumps, although I was trying to give it a good fist bump. You like
The Juice: it. You used to like it. Yeah, I used to really like theme parks and roller coasters. It'll be interesting to see how that one goes.
Big J: What's the draw? Because it sure feels a heck of a lot like a plane to me. What is it about it?
The Juice: I don't know. I enjoy the adrenaline, I think. I think I enjoy the experience of the wind blowing through my hair, or the adrenaline that you get from the experiences, I don't know, the experience of you moving in that particular way. Not really something you can mimic in any other way. I don't know.
I like driving fast. I like faster than things. So it goes along with that. Like I've always enjoyed this. It's I don't know, maybe it's like an element of danger, but it's controlled. So it's part of it's that I don't really feel like I'm going to die in a roller coaster.
Hopefully not going to, but yeah. So yeah, no I think that's what the draw of it is
Big J: for me.
The Juice: Yeah, more or less, yeah, it's an experience that, I don't know. I find it very
Big J: exciting. Cool. Can't relate to that. I hear you. You like the idea. Sure.
The Juice: Yeah, I know. I'm not saying it's for I would never say it's for everyone. But it's something I enjoy.
Big J: I don't know. I never really had an interest like Rod or Yeah, I could say Rod's taste.
Yeah.
The Juice: It doesn't strike your fancy. I gotcha.
Big J: It's not my vibe. I Sure.
The Juice: That's not everyone's vibe, for sure. No, I totally understand
Big J: that. Different strokes for different folks. It's a two way zone, two way zone. That's just
The Juice: huge, right? That's what drives it. That's what's huge. That's what drives it, brother.
Big J: What your brother is the driver for doing it?
The Juice: Yeah, yeah, because I would probably not be, I wouldn't be reaching to go back otherwise. Not that I don't like it, it's just there's more to it these days. Like I, all physical illness and my body doesn't respond the same way, so it drops two.
So I'm gonna have to like, probably drag myself up.
Big J: Midtime.
Alright, I'm gonna I think we've covered a bunch of stuff about internet today. I did intend to do this earlier but it ended up working out because we both had a trip to talk about so that worked out great. I was going to talk to you know, after your trip. No,
The Juice: you, I don't, I haven't worked out quite well I'd say.
Oh,
Big J: that new season of Bosh
Very good. I saw the
The Juice: whole thing. Great. Oh yeah, we're gonna talk, that'll be our next, that'll be our next pause. We'll talk Bosh.
Big J: Get back into the TV. This
The Juice: time. Yeah. Yeah, cause I've seen, Michelle even seemed to like it. And she just, didn't seem to like Bosh as much in the past,
Big J: it's fine. We watched, started watching some of these British detectives.
Ones like Vera and Shetland.
The Juice: Oh, you watched Shetland. Shetland, I like Shetland, but it's a different animal.
Big J: One of those guys, I don't remember which show it was, but one of those guys had bonafide dead eyes. That would probably
The Juice: be Shetland. I feel like his eyes were pretty dead. Was it the blonde haired guy?
Big J: No, it was just the other one. Different one, alright. It might have been. I don't know.
The Juice: Maybe they all have dead eyes, man. Maybe that's the trailer.
Big J: Some of them was particularly good with dead eyes. He just looked like his daughter had died because she died in a pool because he wasn't watching her or something.
Remember that show? Oh, was that
The Juice: sh was crap, what's that one called? I think that's my favorite one. That guy had
Big J: dead eyes,
The Juice: that guy. Oh yeah, that dude had dead eyes. That dude was barely there. He was not he was there and not there at the same time.
Big J: Eyes.
That was so good.
The Juice: Yeah, that was, that's my favorite one
Big J: actually. Yeah, did that. I tried.
Which one?
I, if I know that one. I thought you,
The Juice: yeah, I don't, I didn't do that one, so maybe I did. I dunno. I'd have to think.
Big J: Maybe I just.
The Juice: Yeah you have Luther. I don't know if you need another show right now.
Big J: Yeah, we finished Luther. I'm just trying to go through the defective shows because that's what I like. We're trying to get people to watch more of these lighthearted comedies. I'm like, that's a bunch of bullshit.
I don't want to see that. Not greedy enough.
The Juice: Let's see.
Big J: It's amazing.
The Juice: For the first season. I like the first season.
Big J: Yeah, now it's we just started making stuff, right?
The Juice: I think it's just like she just becomes, she starts making all of her own problems. I think it's stupid in my
Big J: opinion. Yeah, I don't know.
The Juice: Yeah, it's I guess some people can't help themselves, but it just feels like I'm watching her make her own problems over and over again, like, all right, she's self destructive.
I don't, I guess I don't really need to watch that,
Big J: michelle wants to finish today, and so I hear that, and yet, somehow, for some reason, that doesn't apply to the shows that are on today. I think it's a different thing. It's
The Juice: a different thing. No, they're helping people. She's just going through life early.
Yeah. And she's making decisions that don't even really make sense to me, a lot of the time. It's weird.
Big J: They're all acting like Columbo, which is basically no character development. Same character the entire time. I love that because I can keep up with that. That's good. Same person, every episode doing a procedure. That's like law and order all day, every day. How much Shetland have you watched?
Season.
The Juice: Okay. So as it goes, it starts off more episodic, and then as you get in a little further, it'll be like there'll be it'll be more like most other things where each season's the case.
Big J: Oh, okay. Like a lot like Vera.
The Juice: It, Shetland starts that way, it's two parters, and then by the third or fourth season, it'll start to become like a full season of one case, and they'll really get into it, develop it, and all that
Big J: stuff.
Yeah, no, it,
The Juice: It changes. I can assure you it does.
Big J: Therefore, she must watch the O. J. film. That's what I'm going to tell her.
The Juice: Okay. Sure. No, my parents love that one, too. That's
Big J: one of their favorites. Oh, and
The Juice: O. J. That's one of their favorite
Big J: ones. This is great. I got all kinds of sales materials. This is really wonderful.
Sure. Thank you very much. No problem.
I just realized, I hope I'm recording because it says record. Does that mean that you
The Juice: have another last episode?
Big J: All right. I'm going to hit the button right now. Let's find out what happens. Okay. I'll talk to you next time.
